Walter A. Brown Arena The 2008 Got Skills National Championships were held in Boston, Massachusetts at Boston University's Walter A. Brown Arena Memorial Skating Pavilion June 27-29. Over 120 players from 14 states competed over the weekend.

The competitions were intense and many records were broken. In one of the closest Fastest Skater competitions ever, Guy Phillips from the Columbus Blue Jackets Region knocked almost a second and a half off his time from last year on his way to repeating his National title. Samantha Schoeppler became both the first New York Rangers National Champion as well as the first female winner.

In the Hardest Shot competitions, three records were shattered. Troy Henley from the Philadelphia Flyers region set a new Squirt Travel record with an average score of 57.33 mph, an increase of 10 mph from last year. Julian Ebner from the Columbus Blue Jackets reclaimed his Hardest Shot title with a 79 mph moving slapshot. Andrew Smith from the Nashville Predators region smashed the previous Pee Wee House record of 47 mph with an average speed of 58 mph.

In the Accuracy competition, Vincent deMey from the Anaheim Ducks market was the first player to ever go 8 for 8 at the Nationals, and the second player to ever accomplish that.

Joshua Pack, the Squirt House goalie representing the Anaheim Ducks, gave up only six points in the final round of competition. Last year's Squirt Travel Goalie Champion Al Rogers, representing the New York Islanders this year, won the Pee Wee Travel Goalie Championship.

Squirt Troy Henley and Pee Wee Julian Ebner were the Sports Illustrated Kids Top Skills Award winners. Henley was the second straight Squirt Flyer to win this award; Ebner was the first non-Anaheim Duck to win the Pee Wee award.

Squirt James Mainland of the Nashville Predators and Pee Wee T.J. Hollen of the Washington Capitals took home the inaugural Top Skills Goalie titles.
